Humility

That subject sounds a little intense, and it is. I had the opportunity to witness God's hand in the life of a wonderful couple. I will call them Dill and Stacy. Dill has had Cancer for the last 5 years, but was able to fight it off, and has been in remission for a short while. Recently Cancer was rediscovered behind his lungs, and he will begin his Chemo treatments soon. Dill is a wonderful guy, but just as stubborn as they come. He is very rooted in tradition; one example, he and his wife are appalled by their priest but they still attend his services, because that's what they do. With his health now declining he met some missionaries in Halifax, and They referred us to him. We were graciously invited into Dill and Stacy's home, and we were so blessed as to take Stake President David Evans with us. Now Stacy Poured her hopes out and continued to tell us over and over how God would perform a miracle on Dill. She told us she had the 'faith'. Now a wonderful Byu devotional "That I might Not shrink" came to mind, and Faith more than receiving miracles. Faith is submitting to God's will for us, rather than forcing our will on God's. We explained this as gently as possible , and the spirit was strong, It testified of this truthfulness to Stacy. Now Dill seemed to agree as well, I invited him to be baptized and instantly the wall of Tradition went up, and Dill was no longer Interested. This taught me a great deal about Humility. "How much More Blessed is he that humbles himself" well I have to say much more. In discussing the lesson afterwards with Elder Hamblin and President Evans we all felt strongly that God had set forth a path for Dill and Stacy, He is giving them challenges to help bless them, but in order for them to realize these blessings they must align their will with God's. Times up, Love you Bye! Elder Sawa Sawa

The Fame of Kyle Gardner

Well even in a far off foreign country people Know Kyle Gardner.Talking with a guy here in Nova Scotia he knew a little bit about Arizona, he was born and raised there. We got to talking about it because it's the most wonderful state in the Union, and He mentioned He had gone to NAU. Well after a little bit he mentioned his sister was a teacher in Holbrook, I said my Uncle does the Musicals there, "Oh! Kyle Gardner, right?" So there you go Uncle Kyle, you're a stud. Well we got about 3 feet of snow this weekend, so I finally feel like I'm in Canada. Though this being Nova Scotia and all the locals forecast the rain will get rid of it by Wednesday. We Started Teaching a Man named Mike this week, and I love Mike "with all my Heart!" (the Elder Hamblin quote of the week for you). Mike is just so Chillax, and has a great love of our Savior Jesus Christ. He has a long Beard, and Shoulder Length hair and so he actually looks a little bit like Jesus. We Had a great discussion about the Godhead, and that sent me on a study this week. I believe it is key that We Understand who our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are, and so I would Highly suggest a talk "The Only True God, and Jesus Christ Whom He Hath Sent" (its by Elder Holland, Just in case you need some incentive to read it 😉) Saturday and Sunday we did so much Snow shoveling, by the end of this winter I'm going to be the size of He-man! Wielding my mystical shovel that defeats all snow. Sunday we were even snowed out of church, so we just shoveled all morning. That was the most maritimers I've seen outside ever! Every person was out shoveling Driveways Sunday morning, it was pretty cool to see. Well I love you guys, and some food for thought! If we were perfectly Honest would we need the rest of the ten commandments? Have a fantastic week! Elder Johnson PS- The wind drifts all the snow real bad! pretty sweet though, Eh?

Bar Contacting Eh?....

Quote of the week from Elder Hamblin. "Oh no, this has only happened three times in my life." To set a scene to this quote, it's 1 in the morning, I wake up to the sound of sheets rustling, and I see elder Hamblin Grab his towel, struggle to get his shoes on, and move slowly, stumbling out of the room. I was tired enough that I thought nothing of it and rolled over to sleep some more. 10 minutes later Elder Hamblin stumbles back into our room (Thank Goodness!) and this is when he groans "Oh no, this has only happened three times in my life!" And I then discovered that Elder Hamblin Had just taken a Shower while Sleep walking, Elder Hardy was awake at this point too, and we just died laughing! We met a woman named Angie earlier this week who was just amazing, and bore sweet and simple testimony of the Book of Mormon. (not a member by the way) We took the sisters to the address Angie had given us, so we could introduce them to her and set up a lesson. This address led us down a dark alley in the middle of darmouth, and up to a rooftop where there happened to be a couple of doors. Well long story short Angie Wasn't home, so we went to see if she was at the bar. Because that's where we talked with her last time you see. Outside of course, while taking a smoke break. Well Angie wasn't there, but in passing another local bar we recongnized one of Angie's friends and yelled across the street to her, she told us to try Staggers Bar, not Revana, and that's probably where she would be. So we journeyed back to Staggers, The sisters awkwardly peaked through the window, and were talking about trying again later, So, I walked in (We'd walked all the way back might as well check, Eh?) well, there was an awkward silence as the bar Crowd immediately realized who we were, and The bartender called "What brings 'YOU" into 'HERE"? "Well" I said "We're Looking for Angie." and that was all they needed. They opened right up and took us in. The bartender, who turned out to be a less-active, offered us some milk on the house, and even gave us some kisses (the Hershey's kind). Elder Hamblin Made Friends with an Old Scottish man, a woman sat down the sisters and told them they were safe here (while gingerly grabbing their hands), and I hung out with my new Bro Dean Who used to be a model. By the end of the night we did not find Angie, but we set up some lessons. I parted ways with my new bro dean by giving him a Bro hug, with our secret hand shake. It was Great. Well I love my Savior Jesus Christ, and I know our Heavenly Father has a a plan for each and every one of Us. Elder Johnson
